The Nadowli-Kaleo District Assembly organize a two-day training programme for One Hundred and Twenty (120) in the District on income generating activities and sound business management practices as part of their LED activities for the year under review.
The Coordinating Director in her welcome address advised the women to take the training seriously so that at the end of the training program, they can make their own soap and detergents for home and commercial use. She admonished them to leverage on community market days, funerals, and other ceremonies to sell their products.
She said, the objectives of the training were to train One Hundred and Twenty women in the District on how to produce five different types of soap as well as how to manage their businesses effectively.
The training programme took place from 23rd to 24th May, 2023 at Nadowli-Kaleo District Assembly Conference Hall.
Outcome of the training programme
During the two-day training, One Hundred and Twenty women were trained on how to produce the following:
- Powdered soap
- Liquid soap
- Shampoo
- Shower Gel and
- Detergent
In conclusion, all the One Hundred and Twenty women were successfully trained on how to produce the above listed products and how to package them, so as to attract customers. They were also taken through series of sound business practices and management. The training was given to them in order to improve their income generation level to alleviate poverty in the various communities in the district. The women were very excited about the training and said the district should organize more of such to help them and their families in their income level generation. They promised to use the knowledge gained to start their own business in their various communities.
