The Directorate of National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) in the Nadowli-Kaleo District as part of their constitutional mandate to educate and sensitize citizens on their rights and responsibilities. The directorate in collaboration with Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) and Narcotics Control Commission (NACCO) carried out sensitization at St. Augustine SHS on drugs usage.
The students were taken through the following topics by the NACCO Officer as follows:

- Types of drugs
- Categorization of drugs
- Use of drugs
- Some narcotics
- Effects of drug use
- Avoiding drug use
- The role of the parent
- The role of the community
- Traveling tips
The students were also taken through the following topics by the GIS Officer as follows:
- Counterterrorism/violent extremism
- Forms of terrorism
- Targets of terrorist
- Common appearances
- What to report and how/whom to report to
- Types of attack
- Victim survivability guidelines
- Target groups for recruitment
- Effects of terrorism/violent extremism
- General safety/security tips
The directorate has carried out these activities in the district to prevent and contain violent extremism in the district and these activities were supported by the European Union (EU).
