SOCIAL WELFARE AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT TRAIN SOME EXECUTIVES OF CHILD PROTECTION COMMITTEE ON CHILD PROTECTION TOOLS KIT

The Social Welfare and Community Development Department is mandated to protect children and the vulnerable in society in the Nadowli-Kaleo District. The department has trained Child Protection Committee executives in twenty (20) communities on child protection, rights, and responsibilities of children to also go to the community to train others. These committees were formed in the first quarter and trained them on how to identify, handle, and report cases. It constituted five persons with the assembly members being the Chairpersons.

The committee members who were selected and trained are the secretaries and chairpersons in each community. They were trained on the following, gender roles, balloon games on career development, and rights or responsibilities of children.

The trainees were urged to put the knowledge gained into good use to reduce the following cases Child neglect, Teenage pregnancy, Child abuse, School dropout, Domestic violence, and Child labor in their various communities.
