The SWCD with its development partners has trained thirty (30) women from various communities to also train other women in their various communities on how to produce soap and other detergents.
The Coordinating Director in her welcome address advised the women to take the training seriously so that at the end of the training program, they can make their own soap and detergents for home and commercial use. She admonished them to leverage on community market days, funerals and other ceremonies to sell their products.
The training was given to them in order to improve their income generation level to alleviate poverty in the various communities in the district. The women were very excited about the training and said the district should organize more of such to help them and their families in their income level generation. They promised to use the knowledge gained to start their own business in their various communities.
